About
ANTANIA's "33" takes the band's unusual take on avant-garde black metal even further: no guitars and no bass, only synths, brutal low end, warped textures and mechanised beats. It sounds cold, relentless and oppressive. The black metal side traces back to Dødheimsgard, Mysticum and Thorns, the electronic side to Skinny Puppy and Ministry, and the band rebuilds extreme metal's darkness entirely from electronic parts into something uneasy and unmistakably its own.
