About

Named after the infamous Hungarian countess Elizabeth Báthory, the band played a foundational role in the evolution of both black metal and Viking metal genres. Quorthon, the band’s frontman and sole constant member, drew inspiration from punk and heavy metal legends such as Motörhead, GBH, and Black Sabbath.
