About
Montreal's Despised Icon were writing the deathcore blueprint before the word stuck, fusing brutal death metal's blast-and-gurgle with hardcore's two-step and splitting vocal duty between Alex Erian's hardcore bark and Steve Marois's gutturals. Shadow Work (2025) shows two decades haven't dulled the formula, only sharpened its grooves and gloom.
