About
Electric Wizard took Black Sabbath's slowest moments and buried them under a concrete-thick guitar tone, Jus Oborn's reverb-drowned wail and a lyrical diet of Lovecraft, witchcraft and 1970s exploitation cinema. Dopethrone (2000) set the template for filthy, weed-soaked doom that a whole underground has imitated ever since, yet none of the imitators has sounded quite as deranged.
