About
Left Hand Path in 1990 gave Swedish death metal its buzzsaw guitar sound, but the other half of the template was L-G Petrov: eighteen years old, roaring in a clear mid-range rather than grunting along with the riff. Three years later Wolverine Blues bent the same band toward rock swing and invented a subgenre almost by accident, and Petrov carried that voice until his death in 2021.
