Birmingham, England
About
Justin Broadrick quit Napalm Death as a teenager and went on to build the opposite: metal stripped of human tempo, downtuned riffs grinding against a drum machine that never swings and never tires. Streetcleaner in 1989 set a template that a generation of slower, heavier bands spent the next decade softening, and Selfless in 1994 pushed the riffing to its most crushing.
