About
Obituary embody the groove-heavy side of classic Florida death metal, built on crushing riffs, lumbering rhythms, cavernous vocals and a deliberately stripped-down attack. Their music favors blunt-force impact and memorable riffcraft over technical excess, giving the band a distinctive, relentlessly physical sound that has remained central to death metal’s old-school tradition.
