About

Theatre of Tragedy helped define early gothic metal by pairing death-doom heaviness with contrasting male growls and ethereal female vocals, later embracing electronic and industrial textures. Their dramatic, melancholic sound evolved sharply across their career, moving from medieval gloom toward a more futuristic, synth-driven approach.
