Andreas "Vintersorg" Hedlund is one of Scandinavia's most inventive musical explorers, renowned for blending black metal, folk traditions, progressive metal, and soaring vocal harmonies into works of remarkable depth. As the founder of Vintersorg and a longtime vocalist for Borknagar, he has spent decades charting a course through Nordic mythology, nature, science, and philosophy, guided by an insatiable creative spirit. His unmistakable voice—equally capable of powerful clean melodies and harsh extremes—has become a defining feature of some of progressive black metal's most celebrated recordings. Like an ancient skald standing beneath the northern lights, Vintersorg transforms the forests, mountains, and stars into songs that echo across the frozen wilderness.
